The pack describes it as being for hand-feeding parrot chicks from hatching to 7 days of age, for young birds needing an easily assimilated source of nutrients (including insectivorous passerines), for medical and surgical patients recovering from pansystemic failure, and for birds in which anorexia has slowed gastrointestinal emptying time.

How to use: gently feel the crop first and check it is almost empty. Mix fresh each time, 1 part dry formula to 1-3 parts drinking water, and adjust the consistency if needed. Use a thermometer to keep it at 39-41°C (102-106°F), and don't microwave it, to avoid burns. Feed until the crop is full but not overstuffed, clean any excess formula from the bird and repeat as needed. A QR code on the pack links to the Recovery feeding chart.

Harrison's says tube feeding is probably the most universally successful technique. The correct technique matters to prevent injury or inhalation of the formula, so anyone not experienced with tube feeding should leave it to a professional.

Ingredients: soy protein isolate*, sunflower oil*, sugar*, calcium carbonate, potassium chloride, monocalcium phosphate, lecithin*, DL-methionine. *Certified organic ingredient.

Certified organic by Where Food Comes From Organic (USA) and The Organic Food Federation (UK).
